Nassau answered to whoever could hold it. This figure model kit from VS3D gives Charles Vane the deck to stand on, sculpted as Zach McGowan played him across Black Sails: unhurried, unbothered, and entirely willing.
Captain, and Steward of the Fort
VS3D stands Vane on a ship's wheel laid flat across a capstan of barrel staves, roped and draped, with a skull and crossbones cut into the front. The costume is working sailor rather than captain's finery — a loose shirt gone soft at the seams, a scarf knotted at the throat over layered chains and a toothed choker, a wide buckled belt, quilted breeches and tall boots strapped tight to the calf. The head is the sculpt's best argument: swept-back hair with fine braids threaded through it, a hoop earring, and a beard kept just short of unkempt. Both hands are then left to you. The right takes either a reversed dagger or a flintlock pistol with a blade mounted along the barrel; the left takes a cutlass held low, or a lit cigar instead — which quietly turns the piece from a man about to start something into a man watching someone else finish it. The scabbards at his belt build full or empty to match whatever ended up in his hands.
