The Face That Started It All
The sculpt leans hard on the makeup that defined a century of werewolves. A swept-back crest of fur rises from a heavy, furrowed brow, thick muttonchops run down into a full beard, and the broad muzzle opens on a row of bared teeth with the canines just showing. A human ear sits incongruously among the fur, which is the detail that keeps the piece tragic rather than merely monstrous. Below the neck the transformation stops dead: a woven work shirt, collar turned, buttons and two flap pockets rendered stitch for stitch, cut away at the back and mounted on a plain stepped plinth so the portrait carries the whole display.
