Colonel Douglas Mortimer is a figure model kit from Kuton Figurines that catches the West's most patient bounty hunter standing perfectly still — long gun hanging loose in one hand, the other flexing open beside a holster, waiting for the other man to move first.

The Man Who Waits

Everything here is understatement, and that is exactly why it works. He stands square and unhurried, weight even, coat hanging open behind him, the barrels of a long carbine dropped straight down at his side while the free hand curls slightly at the hip — half relaxed, half already deciding. Kuton Figurines has spent the detail where a gunfighter's character actually lives: a flat-crowned, broad-brimmed hat with a stippled felt nap, a lapelled frock coat with buttoned cuffs, a soft crossed shirt and knotted string tie, a buttoned waistcoat with a fine watch chain and fob looping across the front, a loaded cartridge belt riding over the hip, and a tooled holster with the revolver seated grip-forward. The face is the piece's centre — deep vertical creases, hooded eyes narrowed against the glare, sideburns running down under the brim, and a clipped moustache over a mouth that has not been amused in years. Fabric folds fall convincingly all the way down the trousers to a pair of worn, low-heeled boots, and the whole figure stands on a plain round base with a scatter of dry grit underfoot. Clean, readable, and beautifully restrained — a fine addition to a shelf of collectible resin figures and premium resin models.
