The dead came back hungry, and the living got curious. The "Doctor Tongue" Bust is a figure model kit from Julles Modelado that immortalises one of the most gleefully repulsive faces in zombie cinema — a specimen in a suit and tie, jaw hanging open, tongue lolling clear down to his collar.
A Specimen in a Suit
What makes this one work is the collision of tailoring and rot. From the shoulders down he is entirely respectable: a woven tweed jacket with notched lapels and flapped pockets, a soft-collared shirt, a knotted tie, and a waistcoat buttoned neatly beneath — every panel carrying a fine, convincing cloth weave, with the odd tear and scuff worked into the sleeves. Above the collar, Julles Modelado has let everything go. The lower face is stripped back to bare bone and exposed dentition, the cheek and lip flesh gone in ragged, pitted tatters, and the tongue hangs enormous and slack past the chin. The skull is a study in decay — a high bald dome pocked with lesions, sunken pupil-less eyes under heavy lids, a cavity where the nose used to be, and long lank hair falling from the temples and back of the head. He sits on a turned cylindrical plinth carrying the film's title in raised block letters across the front panel, with two more sculpted zombie faces flanking it in relief. The kit splits cleanly into bust and plinth, which makes the two halves easy to paint independently. A superb rot-and-flesh study for a shelf of collectible resin figures and premium resin models.
