Chins, collar and that grin. This figure model kit crops Fatso — the widest of the Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988) — down to the parts that do the work, and Diklich Art gives every fold of him room to breathe.
A Face That Keeps Going
There is no neck here, and that is the joke. The head runs straight down into the shoulders through a cascade of folds, jowl over jowl over a soft collar of chin, with a bald crown, one tuft of hair standing straight up and two more sweeping back past the ears. The nose is a smooth hard sphere — the single clean shape on the whole piece — and it sits above a grin stretched wide enough to show small crowded teeth. Below that the three-tiered ruffle cape falls in heavy pleats the whole way round and settles onto a drum plinth wrapped in draped moulding, his name spelled out on a bulb-studded placard at the front. Two parts, no fuss. It is almost purely a surface exercise: creases, soft fabric and one polished sphere, which is exactly the contrast that makes collectible resin figures rewarding to sit down with.
