Fatso does not chase anybody. This figure model kit plants the widest of the Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988) on your shelf mid-trick, a Krazy Straw looping out of one fist and an expression that has clearly already decided how the evening ends.
Built Like a Circus Tent
The whole sculpt is one enormous, beautifully weighted pear. Diklich Art lets the body carry the comedy — a vast smock swelling out from a tiered ruffle collar and tapering down to two small feet in rounded shoes — then loads all the horror into the head. It sits low and jowled, a tuft of hair standing up from a bald crown, small hard eyes buried under heavy folds, and a mouth stretched into a grin with little teeth showing between sagging lips. One hand rests on the belly. The other is raised with a Krazy Straw, its tube corkscrewed into loops and knots above the fist and the drinking end trailing down past his wrist, and the piece lives on that gesture: he is performing, and enjoying it far too much. The plinth keeps up the act with a ruffled skirt of drapery around the sides and his name on a bulb-studded placard at the front. Acres of smooth fabric, deep collar shadows and a face made almost entirely of creases give collectible resin figures like this one an unusually clear division of labour for a painter.
