Grief is a poor reason to reanimate someone. This figure model kit from Diklich Art gives Julie Walker the moment she stops fighting what she is becoming, upright and lucid and already coming apart.

Beautiful, and Held Together with Hardware

Diklich Art has sculpted the character at her most recognizable, and almost all of the detail is in what has been driven into her. Shards of glass are set into the brow and fan out from both shoulders, nails and pins pierce the cheek and the chin, and a further shard runs clean through the raised hand between fingers tipped with long nails. Chains loop from a ring at the navel across the torso and down to a belted waistband, a Celtic cross hangs among several necklaces, and hoops crowd one ear. Her forearms are bound in strips of cloth that trail loose past the wrist, the cropped top is torn open, and cut-off denim frays over laddered fishnets into scuffed lace-up boots. She stands on the lid of a Trioxin drum, stamped and ringed, which is the only part of the whole piece that could be called clean.
