He has all night, and he knows it. This Count Orlok figure model kit from Diklich Art is the vampire of Nosferatu (1922) exactly as Max Schreck left him — hairless, hunched and entirely unhurried, one clawed hand lifted as though he has just registered that the room is no longer empty.
The Stillness Is the Point
Almost nothing about this sculpt moves, and that is what makes it unsettling. The weight sits back on the heels, the shoulders round forward, and the head tips slightly down — a posture of patience rather than threat. The face carries the whole performance: a bald domed skull, ears drawn to points, brows arched high into deep furrows, eyes sunk under heavy lids and a mouth parted just enough to show the pair of long incisors set at the front rather than the corners. Every wrinkle around the eye and across the throat is carved in, right down to the tendons standing in a neck that has forgotten how to be soft.
The tailoring is period-correct and just as carefully worked. A long high-collared frock coat falls past the knee, closed with a double row of toggle fastenings that march the full length of the front, its weave textured across every panel. Narrow trousers break over buttoned leather shoes, and the sleeves end early to expose the hands — which are the second reason to own this piece. They are far too long, knuckles swollen, fingers tapering into nails like splinters, one raised at the chest and the other hanging loose at the hip. He stands on a plain stepped disc with NOSFERATU cut into the rim in Roman capitals, the stone lightly cracked.
