Full draw, and nothing else in the world. This figure model kit from Kuton Figurines catches The Archer arched back across a carved stone altar, bow locked overhead, the arrow already at her cheek and a heartbeat from the loose.

Balanced on the Edge of the Loose

The pose carries the whole piece. Kuton Figurines has laid her back over a stepped altar in one long arc that runs from a trailing sandal on the ground, up through the hip and ribs, to the fist closed around the bow above her head. The bow arm is fully extended and ringed with patterned bands, the draw hand tucked in tight beside the jaw, and the head has tipped back far enough that a heavy ponytail swings clear of the shoulder. Costume is kept deliberately spare — a knotted wrap top gathered at a scrolled clasp, briefs with a decorated belt and thigh strap, an armlet, a banded anklet and laced sandals — which leaves the anatomy and the stonework to carry it. The altar is cut on every face with a symmetrical crest of curling scrollwork and stacked on a square footing, a finished display base before you prime a single part.
