Castle Brunwald is behind them, and the road ahead is no safer. This Indiana Jones figure model kit from VS3D takes the escape from the castle and builds it as a full scene: father and son on a commandeered military motorcycle, the old man wedged into the sidecar with his umbrella still folded across his lap, the two of them turning to each other in the first clear moment since the gates.

Two Figures, One Machine, One Moment

The scale of this release is the point. VS3D has sculpted two complete portrait figures and an entire period motorcycle combination, then set the whole thing on a landscaped plinth, and every one of those three elements is finished to the standard the studio usually reserves for a single hero figure. Indiana sits forward over the bars in his creased jacket, shirt and loosened tie, the brim of the fedora crushed and worn along its folds, his head turned toward the sidecar. Behind the glasses, Henry Jones Senior tips his chin up from under a soft woven hat to meet his son's eye, beard and brow rendered line by line, arms folded over a strapped travelling case with the folded umbrella laid across it. It is the beat after the escape rather than the chase itself, and the two portraits are sculpted to carry it. The machine between them carries as much work as the men do: an opposed twin engine with deeply finned cylinders, wire-spoked wheels under heavy knobbled tyres, a caged headlamp, a sprung saddle, pannier boxes and a bedroll at the tail, a fuel bottle and a spare tyre hung on the sidecar, and the number WH 38475 stamped on the plate at both ends. The round base is broken road — cracked slabs, loose rubble and torn ground kicked up under the wheels — with the film's title set into a plaque on the stepped rim. It is a heavy kit of many solid resin parts, and at 1:6 it wants a shelf of its own.
