Not every dragon needs slaying. The Girl and the Dragon - Pyralis is a figure model kit from Kuton Figurines built on that idea — a young woman standing easy on broken stone with one hand laid flat on the head of a wyvern the size of a horse, and neither of them remotely worried about the other.
An Understanding on Broken Stone
This is a two-subject piece and Kuton Figurines has given both halves equal care. Pyralis stands relaxed and weight-shifted, chin lifted and eyes off to the horizon, long waved hair blown back off the shoulders. Her kit is spare and practical: a simple banded top, a low-slung belt with a shaped buckle plate over brief cut shorts, a strap of cloth knotted at one hip, buckled bands high on both arms, a wrapped and plated bracer running the length of one forearm, garter straps at the thighs, and tall boots finished with a fringe of hanging drops at the cuff. Beside her the wyvern is coiled down like a cat — a long armoured neck rising in overlapping scute plates, a narrow horned skull with a fine row of exposed teeth, a ridged spine, heavy clawed forefeet planted on the rock, and a whiplike tail curling around behind her boots. Its wings are the drama: two huge webbed spans lifting away on either side, veined and taut, hooked claws at every finger tip, framing the pair like a proscenium. Underneath, a wide slabbed base of cracked flagstones and shattered rock ties the composition together, with a blade lying discarded flat on the stone at one edge. Rich, characterful, and a real centrepiece among collectible resin figures and premium resin models.
