The Snarl, Framed
Cut at the chest, the sculpt gives up nothing that carried the full figure. The ridged brow is driven down over slitted eyes, the nose creased back into the cheeks, the mouth hauled wide on a full set of fangs. Below it the shearling-collared coat stands up around the neck over a zipped jacket and knit top, the stitched edges and the open run of the zip cut at a size a brush can actually reach. The drop earring hangs against the mullet, and the whole piece sits on a stepped plinth carrying his name above THE LOST BOYS in raised letters, with the sculptor's mark on the reverse.
