The graveyard scene that made a horror legend. This figure model kit from Diklich Art puts Trash up on the headstone at the heart of Return of the Living Dead, Linnea Quigley's punk runaway captured at the moment the joke stops being funny.
Perched Above the Punchline
The whole piece is built around the stone. Trash sits atop it with her arms folded across her chest and one knee drawn up, and the sculpt keeps her 1985 wardrobe exactly where the film left it: ribbed leg warmers slouched down the calf, studded arm warmers pushed back to the wrist, hair teased high and swept off the face. Her eyes have gone blank, which is the tell. Beneath her the granite is chipped and weather-worn with its carved cross and half-legible lettering still readable, and a skeleton drags itself out of the broken ground alongside, jaw wide open and one hand hooked over the base. It is really two figures on one slab, and every surface is given its own texture to work with, from knit ribbing to pitted stone to dry bone.
