The man who sold his soul to save his country. This figure model kit from VS3D casts Vlad the Impaler at the moment the bargain starts to show, sculpted after Luke Evans in Dracula Untold with the night already coming apart around him.
The Dragon and the Bats
VS3D builds the whole piece around one idea — a warlord turning into something else. Vlad stands on a bare crag in scaled armour, a coiled dragon worked across the breastplate and answered on each pauldron, sleeves and vambraces scaled to match, a longsword hanging loose in his hand. Behind him the great cloak lifts, and its trailing edge stops being cloth: it breaks into a flight of bats that carry the fabric out into the air, which is the kind of thing that either works completely or not at all, and here it works. Beside him two severed heads sit on stakes in Ottoman helmets with a torn pennant still tied to one — the only reminder this listing needs of how he earned the name. Two head portraits come in the kit — roaring with the fangs bared, or composed with the mouth closed — and the choice decides whether the shelf holds the warlord or the thing wearing him.
